For Children Ages 7-13, Kids Camp offers a safe, comfortable, and fun away-from-home experience for kids with T1D
Camp de Los Niños is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, this program is a great local option for kids and teens.
At Teen Camp, teens will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including sports, visual arts, performing arts, and wilderness, and engage in new experiences together with friends.

At DYF we believe that type I diabetes shouldn’t hold us back from anything and our adventure programs are the perfect example of that philosophy. All our Adventure Programs are led by fantastic medical staff and program staff with lots of experience with T1D in the backcountry. Adventure Programs are designed to be a challenge and the feelings of accomplishment that come with the trek.

Buddy Camp is a unique program built for kids who want to share the diabetes camp experience with a non-type 1 buddy or sibling.
Leaders in Training programs are perfect for teens with and without diabetes who are ready to take the next step in developing their leadership skills.
Family Camp Flipped is for families with a parent with T1D
This NEW program delivers everything an adventure-seeker could imagine: rock climbing, backpacking, and a thrilling whitewater rafting experience. Participants will start at Bearskin Meadow Camp for a few days of prep before hitting the trail for 6 days for backpacking through Kings Canyon National Park. Next, we’ll learn the basics of rock climbing and practice in some gorgeous spots around the park. Finally, we’ll drive together to Lotus, CA where we will spend our final weekend together on a thrilling 2-day whitewater rafting trip in partnership with ETC. Parents will pick their teens up from Lotus on Sunday afternoon.
Family Camps 1 and 2 are for families with children ages 0-17 with T1D, while Family Camp Flipped is for families with a parent with T1D.
Bearskin Meadow Camp
The Adult Retreat is for ages 18 and up, this weekend program will re-invigorate you, connect you with other T1D adults, and allow you to brush up your diabetes management skills.
All DYF community members are invited to join in this fun whitewater rafting weekend!
Campamento Familiar en Español is the same great programming and excellent diabetes education as our weekend Family Retreats, but all in Spanish!
Year-Round Weekend Retreats Held in various locations including the Bay Area, participants will build community as they enjoy numerous camp activities and learn about the latest in diabetes management from our team of health-care professionals. Our Family Retreat weekends are located in the Bay Area and they are the perfect opportunity to experience a dose of Family Camp closer to home.
Family Adventure Program 1 is an introductory backpacking program ideal for youth ages 10 – 14 and an adult family member who are ready to challenge themselves in the great outdoors!
