DECA’s community of dedicated camping professionals gather at conferences to network and enhance programs for youth and families.  DECA's 2014 International Diabetes Camping Conference will be held on Tuesday, March 18th in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.  Leaders in the areas of medicine, programs and administrative protocols will offer valuable information for providing outstanding diabetes camping programs.  In addition to the extraordinary education sessions, you will have the opportunity to network with a number of likeminded  participants.  DECA’s conference will be held in association with The American Camp Association, New York and New Jersey ‘s Tri-State CAMP Conference: the largest gathering of camp professionals in the world.  The Tri-State CAMP Conference will convene on Wednesday, March 19th and go through Friday, March 21st.  It too will offer inspiring educational sessions as well as the opportunity to visit a multitude of vendors in the 300 booth exhibit hall.

    Camp Mentoring Team

Board development, fund raising, Leadership-in-Training program development, collaboration with local agencies – these are issues that many diabetes camps face.  DECA staff and professional camp volunteers from DECA’s community provide consultation to existing camps facing challenges.  DECA staff and volunteers also provide assistance to individuals and groups hoping to start camps.  Consultation services can range from a few phone calls to an intensive evaluation and training visit.  Staff stand ready to assist anyone whose mission is aligned with helping youth and families through diabetes camping programs.
