Tennessee Camp for Diabetic Children (TCDC) is a summer camp for children 8 to 15 years old with Type 1 diabetes. Using games, hands-on assistance, and videos, campers learn procedures and techniques for achieving daily glucose control all while making friends and having fun participating in summer camp activities. Activities include mountain biking, paddle boarding, archery, arts and crafts, swimming lessons and free swim in Lake Chickamauga and a salt water pool, assorted games and educational sessions. Three full meals a day are served and three snacks. Doctor and nurses on site 24-7 during the entire camp. Two dances are scheduled during the 2-week session.
