The Leadership Training Weekend, held every year in the spring, is a crucial component of the Camp Leo Leaders in Training curriculum. This weekend is a three-day intensive program comprised of educational workshops, leadership and bonding activities, and targeted self-reflection. Participants are supported in learning leadership skills in a safe environment. The creative problem-solving, listening, and communication skills taught by the program can be used year-round by the participants to improve their interpersonal skills, academic performance, and community leadership. Participants interact with peers who confront the same challenge of being a teen with diabetes, and also with the weekend leadership, all whom have diabetes themselves, who can share their struggles, experiences, and helpful suggestions about how to lead a healthy life as a person with diabetes.
The ConnecT1D Adult Retreat is an opportunity for people with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) to come together for a weekend retreat in Bothell, WA to learn, share and connect around the experience of living with T1D. You’re welcome to bring your partner or closest support person. With humor, compassion and honesty, we’ll have workshops on a variety of topics addressing the psychological and social aspects of the unique life that is living with this chronic condition.
