In partnership with the best surf school around -- Indo Jax -- Riding On Insulin is stoked to announce our annual summer surf camps! The three-day surf camp for ages 7-17 will take place at Wrightsville Beach on Wednesday-Friday on June 28-30, 2023. Surf sessions are all three days for three hours each day. All campers receive 1:1 instruction with professional surf instructors and registration is limited to 25 for each camp. Those with T1D and their close friends or siblings are welcome to register! We have seen that children and teens who take part in our surf camps inevitably move from a feeling of skepticism and reluctance around the ocean to empowerment and confidence, giving them the sense that “If I can surf, I can do anything!” All equipment, including surfboards and life vests (if needed) are provided. Surf sessions in evening 5 - 8 PM
Our arctic programs empower teens and adults with T1D by teaching new outdoor skills. Attendees build confidence to safely managing T1D in a wilderness setting and learn first-hand the importance of getting out and adventuring with their diabetes.
