    The Mission of the Nevada Diabetes Association and California Diabetes Association is to improve the lives of children and adults affected by diabetes through prevention, education and service. The goal of the NDA and CDA is to provide programming that will help avoid complications that this disease causes for children and adults. We offer diabetes education camping programs, diabetes support programs, diabetes seminars/ workshops, printed and electronic diabetes educational resources, emergency insulin and diabetes supply programming.

    Camp Buck 2020

    2020 Camp will be different this year.. WE’RE GOING VIRTUAL We hope you are well and staying healthy in these unusual times. Because the safety of our campers and camp community is always NDA/CDA’s primary concern, out of an abundance of caution towards the coronavirus (COVID-19) we have decided to not hold Camp Buck 2020 in person this summer. While we will be very disappointed to not see you and share hugs (and snacktime!) in person, we have been working hard to create an alternative, Camp Buck 2020 – and we think it’s going to be great! This process is new to all of us, but here is what we are working on, along with some very important announcements: Camp Buck 2020 has been moved to the week of July 26th – 31st.

    San Jose Virtual Camp

    Virtual San Jose Day Camp will be held during the week of August 3-7, 2020, for campers ages 5-13. Returning campers and new faces are welcome! We believe diabetes camp is the best place to make connections with other people living with type 1 diabetes, connections which lead to healthier happier lives. We will offer programming on all 5 days, Monday through Friday, as we do during our normal Day Camp week. This programming will include games, crafts, group activities, and diabetes education. Campers will not be online all day, but will be able to log in at several different times each day for messages and interactive activities, both prerecorded and live.

    Camp Vegas

    Camp Vegas is the perfect camp for the Las Vegas and surrounding area families that want to send their child with diabetes to camp but also want to keep them close. Located just outside the Las Vegas Valley at the wonderful Potosi Pines in the Spring Mountains South of Las Vegas. Have the comfort knowing that a full staff of Dr’s, nurses, registered dietitians and experienced camp counselors all caring round the clock for your child providing the best experiences. Meet other like-age kids with diabetes and create life long bonds. The place for kids to be kids as well as providing daily diabetes education with medical professionals

    Terry Lee Wells Family Camp 2020

    Teen Camp

    Teen Camp is the camp for teens. This camp is focused towards young adult diabetes education and teen activities. Always themed for Halloween as this camp is held over Nevada Day Weekend and located on the beautiful shores of Lake Tahoe with private beach access, this is the perfect setting to get spooky ! Campers will engage in countless activities throughout the weekend leaving them waiting to come back to any and all camp programs. All children will be under the supervision of seasoned counselor staff all living with diabetes first hand or years of experience around the disease to ensure safety at all times. Additionally A full team of medical professionals will be helping to manage your childs diabetes through the weekend helping them better understand themselves and better manage their disease
