Winter Family Camp

Program Type: Overnight Camp

Camp Huronda’s Family Camp is for children living with type 1 diabetes, along with their parents, siblings and caregivers. Family Camp provides families with opportunities to learn more about type 1 diabetes, offering a positive and supportive environment in which they can share knowledge and experiences as well as network and build relationships with other families dealing with similar challenges. Family Camp bring people together in a way that just doesn’t happen in any other setting.

Session A

Two-Week Sessions:  8 – 15 yrs. (except C session)

Leadership Development Program, July Session
2015-06-28 to 2015-07-24

Audience: Teen
Program Type: Overnight Camp

This program is for 16 yr. old campers who want to develop their leadership skills, learn how a camping program operates, gain experience working with children in a camp environment.  During this month-long program participants will work closely with two dedicated Leadership Development Program Instructors as they take part in all Camp Huronda activities and learn how to teach these activities to campers.   During the program LDP participants will take part in Standard First Aid and CPR ‘C’, Bronze Medallion and/or Bronze Cross, High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development and Ontario Recreational Canoe and Kayak Association courses.  All participants who pass the courses will be provided with certifications at the end of the month.

Session C

Two-Week Sessions: 11-15 yrs. only – all younger campers attend C1 or C2
