How To Join

Here's a quick guide on how to join... DECA provides several types of memberships listed as follows:

• Affiliate Members
• DECA Regular Members
• Camp Members
• IPAC Members
• Lifetime Members

To Become a Member, follow these steps:

• Fill out a Membership Application - Membership Tab, click "Membership Application"
  
• If you have a CAMP you wish to also add in our Directory, then you need to also fill out the Camp Membership Application located there as well.
  
• Register to use the website - Members Tab, click  "Member User Registration"
• If you are a Camp Member, and have submitted your Camp Application, then login using your username and password and add your complete updated camp information  - Camp Directory tab - "Add or Edit Entry"

Here is a brief description of each Membership category:

CAMP MEMBERS

To become a Camp member you must apply for a CAMP MEMBERSHIP and the fee is based on the number of camper days for your camp. Camp memberships are FREE until the end of 2009. Camp Memberships provide a variety of needed services during camp season as well as access to our Camp Resources. See more info on camp memberships. Click here to apply for a CAMP MEMBERSHIP.

Camp Membership Fees for 2010
Fee will be based on “camper days” (# of campers in a session X # of days in session)

FEE Structure for Camper Days

$50       1-249
$100     250-999
$175     1,000-1,999
$250     2,000-2,999
$325     3,000-3,999
$400     4,000-4,999
$475     5,000-5,999
Additional $75 per each additional 1,000

If you total camper days is greater than or equal to 2,000 campers, then you will receive a 50% discount to your camp membership fee. This amount is already calculated in the application and will be reflected accordingly when you are requested to submit your type of payment.

CAMP STAFF MEMBERS

Camp Staff Members are those who are current staff with a Member Camp.  If your Camp is listed in our Camp Directory and you are a current staff member of a Member Camp, then you must register on our site for your username and password.  Camp Staff members tab can be found under the main menu HOME tab - select non-members. Click here to register.

Camp Staff members must also submit a MEMBER APPLICATION (FREE) so we know what camp you are affiliated with. Click here to submit your APPLICATION.

LIFETIME MEMBERS

LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP is $400 and provides access to all DECA Resources and functions. Click here to apply for a LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP.

DECA MEMBERS

DECA members are individuals who are actively involved in DECA programs and who are also regular staff members at a registered camp. DECA MEMBERSHIP is $50 annually and FREE until the end of 2009.  If you are a DECA member, you will need to register a username and password in order to access the Members Only Resources. This link can be found under the MEMBERSHIP tab in the main menu under MEMBER USER REGISTRATION. Click here to register.

In addition to registering, DECA members are also required to complete an annual MEMBERS APPLICATION. Click here to submit your APPLICATION.

AFFILIATE CAMP MEMBERSHIP

The Affiliate Camp Membership follows the same fee structure as the above, but the number of camper days is calculated using only campers with diabetes. Affiliate camps will not be included on the Industry Partners database and will only have an affiliate listing (no detailed information) on the website Camp Directory

IPAC MEMBERS

Diabetes Industry Partners are uniquely important to DECA's mission.  Called "IPAC Partners" (Industry Partners Advisory Council), all IPAC Members serve as Advisors to DECA, are invited to attend board meetings, work to advance diabetes camping worldwide and help provide vital resources and education to camps and the children they serve.
