Membership and Benefits
We are excited to offer our Camp Members benefits as never before, and to give our other Members access to important camp resources, events and expertise. Please take a look at the Membership categories below, then you will need to do the following:
- Visit the "How to Join" Page
- Fill out a Membership Application - Membership Tab, click "Apply! > Camp Membership"
- Register to use the website - Membership Tab, click "Members Only Registration"
- If you are a Camp Member, complete updated camp information - Camp Directory tab - "Add or Edit Entry"
Diabetes Camp Membership Priority Benefits:
Ø Inclusion on the Industry Partners Database for donations of supplies and materials
Ø Unlimited individual memberships for camp staff and/or volunteers (online user registration required)
Ø Access to the DECA website’s training videos, PowerPoints, resource materials and more
Ø Rights to use the DECA logo on promotional materials, indicating that your camp is a member of the world’s only professional diabetes camping organization
Ø Partner opportunities with local Lions Clubs and other organizations based on DECA’s affiliations
General Member Benefits:
Ø Access to the DECA website’s training videos, PowerPoints, resource materials and more (online user registration required)
Ø Access to “DCAT” - the Diabetes Camp Assistance Team - experts who can help you with diverse issues
Ø Newsletters, inclusion in notifications of exciting new opportunities, priority access to new resources and more
$100 Diabetes Camp Membership: Priority and General Member Benefits apply. Must have programs and services provided primarily to campers living with diabetes, defined as 85% of the total population with diabetes. *If a camp is facing financial hardship, they can, during membership registration, check a financial hardship box and no fee will be charged.
$75 Affiliate Camp Memberships: Interest in or serving some individuals with diabetes. General Member Benefits apply. In addition, camps will received unlimited individual memberships for camp staff and/or volunteers (online user registration required).
$25 Individual Membership: For those not affiliated with a specific camp or those whose camp is not a member. General Member Benefits apply.
$400 Lifetime Membership: Lifetime Membership is for individual only and may not be purchased in the name of a camp, organization, or group. Lifetime members will receive annual conference discounts. General Member Benefits apply.
Non-Member Diabetes Camps: Non-Member diabetes camps (i.e. they must be eligible for Diabetes Camp Membership) will be given a basic listing on the diabetes camp registry section of the website for free. No other benefits are offered.
DECA Friends: Individuals may sign up on the DECA website to receive a DECA newsletter and as such may receive other benefits from time-to-time.
All memberships run from January 1st (or when paid) to December 31st annually and are not prorated.
