Camp Hendon - the Kentucky Diabetes Camp for Children - is a 501(c)3 nonprofit program based in Louisville, KY. At Camp Hendon we give children with Type 1 diabetes a life changing experience that empowers them to take control of their journey with diabetes during two, week-long residential summer camp sessions. We also offer a weekend Family Camp, Teen Camp, monthly Parents Group Support Group, and other fun family events throughout the year. Camp Hendon is located in Louisville but serves the entire state of Kentucky (and beyond!) Learn more about our programs . Family Camp is the perfect opportunity for young children and families new to Camp Hendon to meet our team and experience a short-term program before sending their child to summer camp. The number one benefit both children and their parents express after attending Camp Hendon is the ability to feel part of a group where everyone has diabetes and the feelings of isolation are eliminated.

Camp Hendon Summer Session 1

A fun and FREE day camp open to youth with T1D in grades K-12 (ages 5 - 17). This is an excellent program for any child with diabetes whether they have attended a diabetes camp before or not.

Bring-a-Buddy Camp

Open to youth ages 8 - 12 with T1D, as well as a friend or sibling! Your camper's buddy does not have to have T1D. Buddies are encouraged, but not required.
