Kiki's Kids Camp is a four-day summer camp for children and youth who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Each summer, Floyd Healthcare Foundation offers a traditional day camp designed for youth with diabetes ages 6-12. Activities like hiking, swimming, tennis, volleyball, nature and crafts are provided along with educational sessions to help campers understand more about diabetes and develop independence and self-discipline in their approach to living with diabetes. The funds for this program are provided by a Heritage Circle gift by the late Angelique (Kiki) Petrople, a pediatric nurse in our community who had diabetes. Her estate gift makes possible Kiki's Kids Camp each summer and provides funds to purchase supplies for diabetic children in need. Contact Floyd Healthcare Foundation by emailing cacarter@floyd.org or call 706.509.3290.
